Chances are you already produce content to promote your business, or you are seriously considering it, right? Well if that sounds like you, this is an article you simply must read.

The paid advertising so many of you might be spending your money on right now, isn't the best way for you to generate new business - regardless of what your advertising manager may tell you. Sure, you might be getting a few leads from it - or maybe the odd sale here or there. This said though, you CAN do a lot better.

And content is where it's at.

The paid advertising so many of you might be spending your money on right now, isn’t the best way for you to generate new business – regardless of what your advertising manager may tell you. Sure, you might be getting a few leads from it – or maybe the odd sale here or there. This said though, you CAN do a lot better.

And content is where it’s at.

Do you know what is seven times more effective than paid advertising?

It’s editorial exposure. I’m talking here about exposure on television, on radio or in newspapers and magazines. It also includes exposure you may have in ezines and on blogs. Editorial exposure helps you to develop trust and rapport with your potential customers – and trust and rapport is what gets a prospect over the line. It’s what turns them into a paying customer.

And you want more of those, right?

As you know, I’m pretty passionate about content. So much so that I’m currently working on a HUGE and exciting new website to help small businesses and others who are thinking of starting one. And I know you are among those people!

I can get you that kind of exposure. And I can do it for free.

I would like to know if you guys would be interested in contributing articles to an online small business publication. The site is almost ready for its launch, and I’m already putting together quite a big team of contributors!

If you are in a business that targets small businesses, I would like to invite you to contribute articles to this new website. You can contribute as often as you like or as sporadically as you like. It is completely up to you! And you may use articles that you have already published on your own site or in your newsletters.

If you are in business, but you don’t target small businesses, I can also help you! I am interested in learning about you and what you do, so I can profile your business and get you some free exposure that way. In other words, I can interview you as a subject for an article to be published on the website. And it will stay online forever!

I am also interested in considering affiliate opportunities. I am open to doing this for those of you who target small business people. It is my passion to personally help people expand their businesses and their clientele. Just let me know what you offer and what you have in mind. I’d love to hear all about it!

The year is still quite new and there’s always time to do things TODAY to make our dreams for business exposure come true. And I am personally offering to help you – so drop me a line today! Let’s see how we can help one another!

Are you getting the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to your website?

Are you waking up every morning and seeing at least one lead from your website from the night before?

If not, it's time to take some serious action to turn that around. After all, you're in business. You DO have something to offer and there ARE plenty of prospects out there who - when they find out who you are and what you do - will contact you with a view to doing business.

If not, it’s time to take some serious action to turn that around. After all, you’re in business. You DO have something to offer and there ARE plenty of prospects out there who – when they find out who you are and what you do – will contact you with a view to doing business.

So what do you do to turn things around, and get the leads coming to you?

One word: content!

Content is what Google looks at to find your website. Google will index the content on your website, and use it in such a way that web users will find you. The more content you produce on your website, the better your chances are at people finding you on Google – without the need for pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.

Now don’t get me wrong. Pay-per-click advertising most certainly has a place in your online marketing campaign. This said though, a great organic search result on Google (this is where you just appear in the actual search results on Google) is going to get you even better results.

To rank highly in Google’s organic search results you do need to work at it and keep working at it. You do need to generate good, ongoing content on your website that gets your prospects finding you – and keeps them returning to your site. The minute you stop doing this, you will slip in your organic search position, e.g. you may be on page one, but the minute you stop updating content, you might slip to page three.

It takes time. It takes effort. It takes planning.

I’m going to talk more about it over the next few weeks, so stay tuned. In the meantime, take a look at your website and ask yourself: is it performing at its optimum and does it really utilize the power of content as much as it could?

The internet is definitely a place where you can make yourself a lot of money and there are a lot of websites out there today – over a billion in fact. Most sites though have really pathetic content that is of incredibly poor quality. Put simply, it’s not the kind of content that cuts the mustard. It won’t make the website owners any money at all.

To succeed online and really create cult followings on the web, you need to kick ass when it comes to content – and I’ll let you in on all the proven-to-work techniques for awesome content right here!

So stay tuned and keep reading – and by all means, comment, comment, comment!
